Itinerary (all activities subject to change due to availability) 

Day 1 (Saturday) (Dinner)

• Travel to warm, sunny Costa Rica.  Arrive in Alajuela where a  shuttle will be waiting to transport you to beautiful San Ramón.  Settle in for the evening at the hostel as you get your first taste of Costa Rican (Tico) culture.  Note: San José is the capital but the airport is actually in the neighboring town of Alajuela.

Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) 

Morning 

• Start your tour off flying through the rainforest on zip lines as you experience one of the signature canopy tours of Costa Rica.  Ask the guides to let you fly like Superman, or a butterfly.

Afternoon 

• We will travel into the jungle to visit the Children’s Eternal Rainforest.  We’ll spend some time hiking in the largest private reserve in Costa Rica and visit some of the projects; with any luck we’ll see some animals…

Day 3 (Breakfast, Lunch)

Morning

• Take a morning hike through the forest to take in the sights and sounds of a real life primary rainforest.  Be prepared for bird and animal sightings as well as a visit to hidden volcanic stream.

  

Afternoon 

• After lunch we’ll have the unique opportunity to visit a wild animal rescue center.  From parrots to  monkeys to raccoons to caimans, this center takes in a lot of injured wildlife with the hopes of one day releasing them again.
• After that we’ll head to our hotel, get checked in, and have an opportunity to explore the town of La Fortuna.

Day 4 (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Morning  

• Go where few have gone to experience the rapidly growing adventure activity of rappelling near the Arenal volcano.  Harness yourself in, as you descend down the Arenal canyons  to complete  your rappelling experience.  Then you’ll hop on a horse and follow the trail to the majestic La Fortuna waterfall.

  

Afternoon

• We’re not done yet!  Thanks to the Arenal volcano, relax in the thermal hot springs to wind down the evening.

Day 5 (Breakfast, Lunch)

Morning

• Today you’ll begin the exciting journey from La Fortuna to Monteverde.  Using the popular taxi-boat-taxi transfer we’ll cross lake Arenal and then ascend up the mountain.  Here you will have the potential to experience three different micro-climates in the span of only a few hours.

  

Afternoon 

• Once we get settled in at the hotel we’ll then tour the cloud forest… at night.  This is really when the rainforest comes alive and you’ll be  stunned at what the guide can show you!

  • Location: Monteverde

 

 

Day 6 (Breakfast, Lunch)

Morning 

• Let’s head to the beach but on the way prepare yourself for a wet one as we will stop to experience  one of Costa Rica’s finest rafting attractions.  Leave it to the experts to show you how to successfully navigate the mighty rapids.

Afternoon

• Arrive to the beach in time for a sunset walk and get some much needed R&R.

  • Location: Samara Beach

Day 7 (Breakfast)

• Free day.  Today is your’s to do whatever you would like.  Choose from snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, or just lounging on the beach or at the pool.  (Note: Free day activities not included in tour price.)

• • Lodging: Hotel El Rancho or equivalent
  • Location: Samara Beach

Day 8 (Breakfast, Dinner)

Morning

• Take one last dip in the ocean, swim in the pool and get ready to travel back to San Ramon.

Afternoon

• After lunch the shuttle will be waiting to take you back to San Ramón for one last evening before departure the next day.

 Day 9 Sunday (Breakfast)

• Shuttle to airport.  Enjoy one last hearty Costa Rican breakfast to officially conclude the tour and just like that your adventure has come to an end.  We wish you a very Pura Vida return home and we hope to see you again soon!
