Costa Rica Frika, in partnership with the Discovery Language Academy is delighted to offer this special exchange for teachers to visit us and see our group immersion program offerings firsthand.  Traveling with students can be unnerving especially without knowing your surroundings which is why a student-free scout trip is crucial in evaluating potential program opportunities.

Teachers on our exploratory exchange are hosted by a carefully matched Costa Rican family who will likely meet you when you get off the plane. You will then meet with Costa Rican teachers, spend time at our language academy, learn about our exchange program and Spanish camps, have a group BBQ and be introduced to our teaching methodology. You will also experience some of the tours that students participate in our immersion programs.
 
The in-country cost for accommodations, 3 meals per day, ground transportation and the tours are $150.00 for your entire stay. You only pay for airfare and incidentals such as snacks and souvenirs. We can also arrange for a longer tour to visit more cultural and natural attractions at a modest cost.

Monday, July 17th	Arrival and Accommodation
Tuesday, July 18th	Morning:  Local town tour, immersion workshop Afternoon: Welcome BBQ
Wednesday, July 19th	Morning: Local high school visit Afternoon: Trapiche demo (turn sugar cane into sugar)
Thursday, July 20th	Morning: Visit coffee plantation and tour city of Sarchi Afternoon:  Workshop – The Proactive Learning Method at Discovery Language Academy
Friday, July 21st	Tour the capital city of San José and museums.  Visit animal rescue center.
Saturday, July 22nd	Departure to home country or optional extension (additional cost) Example: La Paz Waterfall garden and/or Poas Volcano.
